Exodus - Legal notice and privacy policy

Exodus - Game Rules and Terms of Use

To ensure a fair experience, players must adhere to these rules:

I - General Behavior
Mutual Respect: All players must treat others with respect. Harassment, discrimination, spam, advertising, or offensive behavior is prohibited. Exodus is not responsible for player-generated content and may sanction violations at its discretion.

II - Account Management
Security: Players are solely responsible for their account, credentials, and Commander Key. Sharing or transferring accounts is forbidden. Any attempt to bypass this (e.g., account lending) may result in suspension at the administration’s discretion. In case of a lost Key, recovery is not guaranteed.

III - Usernames & Planets
Appropriate Names: Names must be respectful and comply with applicable laws. The administration may modify them or suspend an account without justification or refund.

IV - Scripts & Cheating
Prohibition: Bots, scripts, or cheating are strictly forbidden. Any detected violation, at the administration’s discretion, will result in an immediate ban without warning.

V - Messages & Communication
Respect: Messages must be courteous and game-related. Real-world threats, insults, or hate speech are prohibited, though in-game threats (strategy, PvP) are tolerated. Messages may be monitored and stored (with IP) for 1 year but are only reviewed if necessary (reports, moderation investigations). Report abuses via the contact form.

VI - Bugs
Reporting: Any bug or exploit must be reported immediately. Intentional exploitation may lead to suspension without appeal.

VII - Updates
Evolution: These rules may change without notice. By playing, you accept any modifications. The administration may intervene at its discretion to preserve the game.

AI Avatars
Avatars are AI-generated (paid feature) and may vary. Exodus does not guarantee their appearance and is not liable for the results. A free 'Delete Avatar' button is available if the result is unsatisfactory. By paying, you accept these limitations.

Payments
Purchases are processed via Stripe. Exodus does not store payment data. ExoCoins are non-refundable and non-transferable, except where legally required.

General
Exodus is provided 'as is,' with no guarantee of uninterrupted service. The administration may modify, suspend, or terminate the game at any time, without notice or compensation, as needed. The administration may also suspend or close an account at any time, without reason or liability.

Privacy Policy

1. Collected Data

Exodus collects only the minimum necessary data: Login (account name), Commander Name (pseudonym), password, and Commander Key (both encrypted with strong encryption standards), as well as players’ IP addresses (to combat bots). No email or sensitive personal data is required.

2. Usage

This data is used solely for the operation of the game. It is neither shared, sold, nor exploited for commercial purposes.

3. Commander Key

The Commander Key, unique and encrypted, is provided upon account creation. It is the only way to access the ‘Commander Key’ management interface from the public site menu. This interface allows: viewing account information, modifying the Login or password, disconnecting/locking sessions, and requesting account deletion. If lost, it cannot be recovered: the account remains accessible with the current Login and password, but access to the interface (and thus these actions) becomes impossible. The user is solely responsible for safeguarding it and should store it securely.

4. Account Deletion

Deletion can only be requested through the management interface, accessible with the Commander Key.

Non-Whitelisted Accounts

A non-whitelisted account can be deleted immediately upon request, resulting in the complete removal of its data (Login, password, Key, etc.), except for archived messages with IP and date, which are retained for 1 year as required by law.

Whitelisted Accounts

A whitelisted account can be deleted upon request if no alliance has been joined. Deletion may take up to one week and results in the permanent loss of access, unused ExoCoins, and frees the Login and Commander Name for reuse. Game data (fleets, planet names, and appearances) may persist in the universe.

Loss of Whitelist

If a whitelisted account remains inactive for 60 days or fails to establish a colony within 2 weeks, its game access is revoked (whitelist removed), its game data is deleted (except fleets, planet names, and appearances), but the account remains intact with its ExoCoins, usable if whitelisted again. Without the Commander Key, deletion is not possible.

5. ExoCoin

ExoCoins are a non-transferable, non-refundable virtual currency (except in cases of proven error, handled via Stripe). The store becomes accessible after establishing a colony. Upon first whitelisted login, 50 ExoCoins are granted; another 50 are awarded upon colony creation (one-time gifts, not repeated upon re-whitelisting). Transactions (purchases and usage) are logged to manage potential disputes. All ExoCoins are lost upon permanent deletion.

6. Security

The Exodus staff takes every measure to secure data (strong encryption, SSL, anti-attack protection). However, no system is infallible; absolute security cannot be guaranteed. In case of a detected breach, we commit to responding quickly to mitigate risks.

7. Cookies

Only essential cookies (e.g., language settings) are used. No third-party trackers are employed. If advertisements are added, they will not use cookies.

8. Game Data

Game data (planets, fleets, avatars, etc.) is stored to ensure the continuity of the game.

9. Payments

No banking data is stored. Payments are processed via Stripe (Stripe, Inc.: Terms of Service https://stripe.com/legal; Privacy Policy https://stripe.com/privacy). Only amounts, purchase dates, and ExoCoin transactions are recorded to manage potential disputes.

10. Retention

IPs and messages are retained for a maximum of 1 year for security and moderation purposes, then deleted. No moderation data is shared or exploited beyond the necessary legal framework.

11. Modifications

This policy may change without notice. Continued use of Exodus constitutes acceptance of any modifications.

12. Liability

The Exodus staff strives to protect players and their data but cannot be held liable for losses or damages related to the use of the game or unforeseen breaches.
